Foxtrot: A Quest for Water
Fall 2015 Intro to Game Design Studio
Foxtrot follows a fox named Todd, who must journey far from home, solving puzzles and interacting with a diverse cast of animal characters as they all struggle to find out who or what is the cause of the drought devastating the land. This game was inspired by research into the ongoing drought in California. The drought, which began in 2011, has been inciting division among different interest groups who all lay the blame with other rival groups. This concept was the basis of the conflicts found between the animal clans portrayed. Created in Unity as a group project, the storyline of the game was to be loosely based in current events concerning basic human needs such as food or shelter.
My main contributions were in the development of the character designs, rendering both playable and non-playable characters in Illustrator, and creating two-dimensional sprite sheets for every character, including walk cycles, jumps, and idle cycles.
Projects and process.
